Employment Assistance
Building confidence, skills and pathways to meaningful employment.
At Big Leap Support Services, we provide personalised employment assistance to help people explore their interests, develop practical workplace skills and work towards meaningful employment.
Whether someone is preparing for their first job, transitioning from school to work, returning to the workforce or looking for a new opportunity, we tailor support around their individual goals, strengths and support needs.
How we can help
Employment looks different for everyone. We work alongside each person to identify what they want to achieve and build the skills and confidence to take practical steps towards it.
Support can include:
Exploring interests, strengths and suitable career pathways
Developing resumes and cover letters
Searching and applying for jobs
Interview preparation and practice
Building communication and workplace skills
Understanding workplace expectations
Developing confidence and independence
Exploring training, study and volunteering opportunities
Work experience and practical workplace exposure
Learning to travel independently to and from work
Building routines and skills to prepare for employment
Support when starting a new job
On-the-job mentoring and coaching where appropriate
Practical experience. Real-world skills.
We believe some of the most valuable employment skills are developed through practical experience.
Where appropriate, we support participants to explore real-world employment and work experience opportunities based on their interests and goals. This provides an opportunity to develop workplace confidence, practise new skills, understand employer expectations and discover the types of work they enjoy.
Our focus isn't simply on finding a job. It's about helping each person develop the skills, experience and independence that can support sustainable employment into the future.
